ABOUT ME

Hello

My name is Jillian.

I am an Australian artist and illustrator.

who currently lives in the Netherlands.

I grew up on a farm by the sea and I had an idyllic childhood,

playing and swimming at the beach,

and being surrounded by nature.

I had a lot of time to get lost in my own imaginative world.

My artwork is influenced by childhood memories,

and small intimate moments of love and connection

 between people and places.

I look at the real to create the imaginative

and I like to play like a child,

drawing in an intuitive and naïve way.

I create original artworks in an illustrative style,

using pen, inks and watercolours,

as well as a variety of printmaking processes.

When I am not getting lost on my bicycle,

or wandering in the local forests with my dog Maisie,

I am drawing away with my beloved black felt tip pen.
